{"product_id":"fuga-in-g-major-hwv-582","title":"Fuga in G Major, HWV 582","description":"Sonatina - Part of the \u003cem\u003eAylesford\u003c\/em\u003e manuscript$$$$$$This \u003cem\u003eFuga\u003c\/em\u003e or \u003cem\u003eSonatina in G Major\u003c\/em\u003e, HWV 582 by \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/sheetmusic2print.com\/Handel-George-Frideric.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow\"\u003eGeorge Frideric Handel\u003c\/a\u003e was \u003cstrong\u003ecomposed ca 1721-1722\u003c\/strong\u003e, during the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/sheetmusic2print.com\/Baroque-Sheet-Music.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow\"\u003eBaroque period\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  It is part of the \u003cstrong\u003eAylesford manuscript\u003c\/strong\u003e, where it is entitled \u003cem\u003eFuga\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  The Italian word \u003ci\u003efuga\u003c\/i\u003e means \u003cstrong\u003ean escape, or a flight\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Although Handel's \u003cem\u003eFuga\u003c\/em\u003e HWV 582 is \u003cstrong\u003enot a strictly formed fugue\u003c\/strong\u003e (in the style of Bach's fugues, for instance), it does feature \u003cstrong\u003eimitation, fleeing and chasing between the two hands\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Please note that although Handel's manuscript does not contain any ornaments, we suggest \u003cstrong\u003eadding cadential trills to measures 6, 8, 12, 16 and 18\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Our edition thus contains suggestions for realizing these trills in accordance with the performance practice of the \u003ca href=\"https:\/\/sheetmusic2print.com\/Baroque-Sheet-Music.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow\"\u003eBaroque period\u003c\/a\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Namely, such trills \u003cstrong\u003ebegin ON the beat, on the upper auxiliary note\u003c\/strong\u003e. More on less repercussions may be played depending on the player's taste and ability.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  Please note finally that some editions show an \u003cstrong\u003eE in measure 5 (7th note, left hand)\u003c\/strong\u003e. This could be justified by what is done in measure 7.
