XVI:8\u003c\/a\u003e, Landon 1.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  This divertimento - also called \u003cem\u003eSonata\u003c\/em\u003e or \u003cem\u003eParthia\u003c\/em\u003e - is known to have been \u003cstrong\u003ecomposed before 1766\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  It was \u003cstrong\u003efirst published by J. Cooper around 1790\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  As each one of Haydn's first keyboard sonatas, this particular \u003cem\u003eSonata Hob. XVI:8\u003c\/em\u003e is written in the \u003cstrong\u003elight, \u003ci\u003egalant\u003c\/i\u003e style\u003c\/strong\u003e which was very popular in the mid-18th century.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  As the \u003cstrong\u003eClassical sonata\u003c\/strong\u003e takes its origin in the \u003cstrong\u003eBaroque suite\u003c\/strong\u003e, Haydn named his first sonatas \u003cstrong\u003e\u003ci\u003eDivertimenti\u003c\/i\u003e or \u003ci\u003ePartitas\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e  It is believed that this \u003cem\u003eSonata Hob.
