Sur le pont du Nord$$$$$$The French folk song Sur l'pont du Nord [Upon the northern bridge] is a very simple repetitive tune.
It tells the story of a young girl and her brother who go dancing on a bridge in spite of their mother's interdiction. The bridge collapses and they both drown.
This score is an arrangement of Sur l'pont du Nord for easy violin and piano.
It is to be played entirely in détaché, in the first position.
Written in the key of F Major, this simple melody is a good occasion to introduce the pupil to the note F natural (first finger on the E string).
For your greater enjoyment, the violin part contains the lyrics in French (8 verses).$$$$$$Duration : 00:14 per verse$$$$$$Source : French Folk Songs$$$$$$Undefined
